Midstream Lighting, a world leader in LED lighting technology, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Milton to their senior management team. Paul has joined the company in a newly created role as Head of Business Development – Sports across the EMEA region.
Originally a mechanical engineer in the military, Paul has over 20 years working in the sports industry.
Before joining Midstream, Paul was the European Director at Musco Lighting. Whilst there he worked on both the 2002 Commonwealth Games and the 2006 Olympic Games. He was also responsible for the Sky Live Cricket mobile lighting contract across all games in the UK. He then joined GreenFields, where he developed a UK pitch construction and installation division that worked with clubs such as Arsenal FC, Celtic FC, and many others over his 13 years there.
Paul’s focus at Midstream will be to further develop the company’s presence in the sports market throughout EMEA.
James Brunt, Director of Sports at Midstream, has this to say about Paul joining the company:
'We're thrilled and extremely proud that someone with Paul's years of extensive experience in the sporting world has chosen to join the Midstream Lighting business. Having delivered so many ground-breaking projects both in floodlighting and pitch construction – in the UK, Europe, and worldwide – Paul's reputation in the market is renowned.
Paul has an amazing ability to expand business and develop highly successful teams. Plus, his wealth of knowledge and his contacts within sports companies and governing bodies globally will help us drive our sports business to even greater heights.'
Asked why he’s joined Midstream, Paul told us:
‘I’ve worked with Midstream before, as a supplier to GreenFields, and was impressed by their outstanding professionalism and technical capability to deliver an extremely challenging project to an amazingly high standard. So, when I was approached by the company, I was delighted to accept the role.
Midstream clearly has a very positive trajectory of development in all its divisions driven by a true manufacturing and service support strategy. My role here fits the company’s development plans perfectly. Given the sheer size of the region, the opportunities are immense and incredibly exciting.’
