Wasps follow Worcester into administration triggering job losses and relegation
Premiership side Wasps have become the second side in less than a month to enter administration and have confirmed 167 staff redundancies.
Wasps Holdings Limited (“Wasps”) confirmed on October 17th that the club had entered into administration but added that Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) and IEC Experience Limited were unaffected and still trading at present.
That means that Coventry City Football Club will still be able to play at the Coventry Building Society Stadium as well as an corporate or hosptatlity engagements taking place at the ground.
ACL may yet still enter administration but as the holders of the stadium lease have been granted extra time to secure more funding to keep the Stadium running.
As with Worcester who went into administration less than a month ago, Wasps won't fulfill the rest of the Premiership fixtures and have been automatically relegated along with their fellow Midlands club.
The next rugby fixture taking place at the stadium is actually a Rugby League World Cup fixture between Australia and Scotland on Friday. which the organisers have said will go ahead.
