Prospective Castleford Tigers owner given extension to buy the club
The prospective new owner of Castleford Tigers has been
granted an extension to try to complete his purchase of the club.
Property businessman Martin Jepson had been given until 31
January to take up the option to complete a takeover, but that has not been
met.
In a statement, the club cited some areas of due diligence
that required "deeper investigation".
As a result, it has been agreed by all parties to extend the
deadline until the end of April.
Lifelong Castleford fan Jepson will continue to run the club
in the meantime, having taken operational control in October from the Fulton
family.
The Tigers begin their Super League campaign on 14 February
away to Hull KR, having finished 10th last season.
