Peter Smith Joins Digital Infrastructure Company Landways
Peter Smith, a long-standing associate working with many of UK’s upper tier football clubs, joined the growing team at Landways late November 2019. In his Commercial Manager role, Peter will be responsible for introducing the multi-use Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) solution to venue owners across the nation in a bid to transform traditional digital service delivery and de-risk the technology investment.
The team at Landways are delighted to have Peter on board. “With increasingly positive engagements and current resources dedicated to establishing new markets we knew we needed another person to engage with the sporting industry. I have known Peter professionally for several years, working on various digital contracts, and I knew he was the perfect person for the job.” Matt Richards, Commercial Director at Landways
Peter has played an active role in the progression of the UK’s sporting industry for nearly 30 years. An impressive 11-year spell with football legends Arsenal launched his career, initiating the wealth of knowledge for the sporting business Peter now commands. His following roles, supporting leading venues and events across the country offered a unique 360-degree view of the marketplace. This valuable insight and experience of the closely connected marketplace enabled his consultancy work, where Peter began supporting clients to establish new partnerships within the UK Sports Market.
As accessibility to the digital world comes sharply into focus across the nation, UK Clubs are seeking to secure their digital future, and bottom line, by incorporating exciting digital matchday experience opportunities, revenue generation enablement and 356-day business models.
Peter Smith said “Providing an enhanced matchday experience and delivering bespoke fan engagement to supporters within a safe stadium environment will become key deliverables for Clubs in the future. Landways innovative IaaS solution offers Clubs the backbone to deliver these services immediately and future proof them to cope with the rapid growth the data consumption. To join Landways now and be part of this hugely professional team is truly exciting. I am thoroughly looking forward to the role and to delivering for Clubs and Venues across the country.”
