Errea named technical supplier of Europe Rugby
Italian sportswear company Erreà has agreed a sponsorship deal with the Rugby Europe continental governing body.
Erreà will serve as the official technical supplier of Rugby Europe until June 2023 after the two parties signed a four-year deal.
As part of the agreement, Erreà will equip 250 referees and match officials during the 600 matches per season organised by Rugby Europe. Erreà will also equip educators of the 500 training sessions organised in Rugby Europe’s 48 member countries.
A specifically dedicated clothing range will also be available for fans through the opening of an online store. The collaboration begins on February 1 with the first round of the 2020 Rugby Europe Championship, when Georgia faces Romania, Russia takes on Spain and Portugal faces Belgium.
The deal has been signed following a call for tenders managed by the Lagardère Sports France agency.
Enzo Montrucchio, Erreà Sport’s general manager for France, said: “What will bind us to Rugby Europe is not – and is not intended to be – just a simple supply or collaboration agreement. We want to undertake a unique process that will, first and foremost, be a project of involvement. Erreà is a company of ideas and values, and our intention and strongest ambition is to set out programmes and objectives that can be developed and built together.”
Rugby Europe organises 80 international matches and 20 European tournaments each season, including the Men’s Seniors European Championship (Rugby Europe Championship, Trophy, Conferences 1 & 2, Development), the U18 and U20, men’s and women’s rugby sevens events, and qualifiers for the World Cup and Olympic Games.
