1895 Cup final game will be after the Challenge Cup final
The 1895 Cup Final will be played after the Challenge Cup Final.
The Rugby Football League (RFL) has confirmed the game will commence after this years showpiece Cup Final at Wembley.
It is believed the authorities were hoping for the game to be the season opener, but regulations put in place by Wembley, permitted the game to only take place after the Challenge Cup Final.
An earlier start time, would cause conflict with the Steven Mullaney Memorial Game, which traditionally takes place before the Cup Final.
Logistically, the game being played before the Challenge Cup would have caused disruption to the players pre game preparations and giving them less time to get ready.
With that said, the later start time could prove an issue for fans, due to train times.
The belief is that the two teams that make the final, will accommodate their supporters logical plans for those interested in attending the event live.
It has been confirmed that the semi-finals will not be played on neutral territory, but played at the team drawn at home.
